ABOUT ME

My name is Auburn Meister Barnes and I am a goofy, happy wife and mother! I have a supportive husband, a silly baby boy, a clingy pup, a chunky & cuddly cat, and a crazy kitty we found in a barn. Some of my hobbies besides photography include watching TV, playing on my Nintendo Switch, snacking on sweets, and reading.

My Favorites:

Color - Lavender

TV Show - Malcolm in the Middle

Movie - Scary Movie 2

Food - Chocolate

Book - Verity by Colleen Hoover

As an ally and member of the LGBTQ community, I want to make sure it is clear that I am an LGBTQIA+ friendly business. I would love to photograph anyone and everyone.

MY STYLE

I love for my pictures to have natural emotion and expression so I always want to create a comfortable environment with my clients. I am definitely a bit of a goofball and love to laugh with my clients, so if that is something you can jive with, definitely contact me for a session! I love making people laugh for their photos and capturing those raw moments of emotion and pure joy.

The color style I typically go for is light and slightly warm, however, depending on the occasion or person, I may change up the look to best flatter the client and the mood.

MY PHOTOGRAPHY JOURNEY

I began my photography journey when I was in 5th grade with my Nikon COOLPIX that I had gotten as a gift for Christmas. I started off taking some really angsty selfies and eventually evolved into taking pictures of subjects other than my prepubescent self (I have some evidence of the tragic photos if you're interested in seeing them).

In middle school and high school, my interest grew and I began taking classes to learn more about the basics of film photography. I graduated to a Nikon D3200 (my first DSLR) and absolutely loved it!

In college, I took a small break to focus on school. Shortly after college I married my best friend and moved to Belleville, IL to be near family. We then had a baby and began the wonderful and crazy journey of parenthood! I had so many wonderful things, but something was missing.  I eventually realized that photography was the passion that I had been longing to experience again. I invested in some upgraded equipment, got a new (used) camera, and got back into the swing of things by photographing my sweet baby boy.

It quickly grew into a hobby that I knew I wanted to turn into a career. I am so ready and excited for this journey!
